☆Nursery☆

Today was a great morning for the Nursery children.  Beautiful weather and some dancing before morning snack time set them up nicely for a little English.

First, we sang the ‘Hello Song’ and asked ‘How are you?”  They are getting very good at saying “I’m happy.”

Next, we looked at some numbers. First, counting using numbers on the wall,

then, by using their fingers.  Some needed a little help, but they are getting better at finger-play.

After counting, we practiced the phrase, ”Let’s go!”  For this, we places fruit cards around the room.  We said “I’m hungry. I want apples.”  Then a “3..2..1..Let’s go!” and,

they were off.  They walked to, and stood on, the correct card.

Some even said what they wanted.  Grapes were popular.

After they had eaten their fill of imaginary fruit, we sat down to a little ‘Bingo’. First, we counted out the cards. They can count to 5 very well.  Next, we turned over the cards and said what the letters were.

They were really good at saying the letters and when singing clapped along when they started to disappear.

They even started saying “Bye-bye B, bye-bye I”, and so on, when putting away the letters. Top job every one.

And with that, it was time to say goodbye. After some interesting interactions,

we all counted to 3 and said “See you!”

With a parting fist bump, the lesson was over.  Great job everyone.
