Today’s English lesson was a little shorter for the Kinder 3 class due to an earthquake drill. When the alert was sounded the children quickly donned their earthquake head protection,
and when ready, made their way down the emergency staircase to the muster point.
It was good weather for it and the children seemed to enjoy the change of pace. Afterward, the children made their way back upstairs and ready to start with their favorite, ‘walk around the circle’.
Hopping, tip-toeing, and twirling are good fun, but their favorite action, as always, is…
…sleeping. Once they had finished with the warm-up, we all sang “Hello, hello.”
For the activity today, we combined the monthly phrase, “I want (-), please,” with practicing the date. First, we sang the “Days of the week” and “Months” songs, for which they did very well.
They were then split into two teams. The teams had to choose between ‘days’ and ‘months’ by saying, “I want days/months, please.” They then had to arrange the cards into the correct order.
Months are a little tricky, but they are definitely getting faster.
After we had practiced the date the children put away the cards and then lined up to collect their alphabet workbooks.
Once they had their workbooks and had sat down, they turned to the correct page. Together we named letters, found the matching picture, and drew a line to it.
Help was offered to those in need of it.
When all connections were made, the children colored the pictures how they wished. After which, the books and color pencils were put back in their place, and we all sang “Goodbye.”
Fun, singing, and coloring, great job everyone!
