Today, the Kinder 3 class had had a busy morning at the park and were a little tired. So, we started the English lesson with a little exercise to wake them up.
A little walking, galloping, hopping, and twirling, as well as some sleeping,
got the children into the mood.
Next, they said “hello.” With some stretching high, touching their toes,
then saying a big hello.
With everyone greeted and sat in a circle, the children took turns asking their neighbor about their favorite color.
Once everyone had given their favorite color, they then had to go and find something in the classroom of that color. They do enjoy “finding” games.
One child’s favorite color was Gold, a tough color to find, but…
good find.
Next, the children practiced asking “What is it?” and “What are they?” First, they went through the vocabulary choosing the correct question.
They also practiced adding to their answer. Instead of “It’s a pencil,” they could say “It’s a long pencil,” or “It’s a broken pencil.”
The children then split into two groups.
They saw the four cards then, once the cards had been shuffled and turned over, chose one card. They asked the other team the correct question and the other team had to guess what the card was.
They had to chose one answer together, then give it. If wrong, they chose a card.
When they got the correct answer, there was much rejoicing.
Finally, they practiced writing, specifically size. For today, they practiced “I like chicken.”
They did well writing the characters, but need work on sizing the small letters. With some help and a few tries they started to get the size nicely.
Writing can be tricky, but they tried hard and did ver well.
When they had finished, they put their pencils away and sang the “Goodbye” song. Another excellent effort. Great questions, fun games, and nice writing. Great job, everyone.
