Today started as all Fridays do, introductions and some basic questions. The introductions went well and, for the basic questions, we played a little ‘Hot Potato’.
The kinders passed the ‘hot potato’ around to the music. When it stopped, whoever had the ‘potato’ was ‘out’ and had to answer a question. For example, “When’s your birthday.”
They did very well answering questions about their favorite food and color, but things like their birthday required some help.
For birthdays we started with just months, for example, “It’s in April.” Using prepositions, ‘in’ in the example, is quite tricky, but they repeated very well.
Next we played a drawing game to practice vocabulary.
The kinders would choose a card by saying “stop!” The chosen kid would then draw a picture of the object and the other kids would guess using “It’s a/an …” After a little demonstration it was game on.
The kids were very enthusiastic and had good fun drawing.
For some, a power stance was needed,
for others, a little thought was needed.
In the end, though, the pictures were drawn and the guessing was accurate.
Can you guess what they drew?
Finally, they practiced writing. They focused on correct stroke order and size of letters.
It was a little difficult keeping the stroke order, but for a first attempt they did well.
After that, all that was left was to sing ‘Goodbye’.
Good job everyone.
