This month we introduced a new song, and had a blast learning about different foods! We also have started learning more emotions! The students have been doing great and having so much fun! Try asking your child, “How are you?” or “What is this?” with different foods! The students did great answering these questions!
With our foods, we had a blast learning how to gesture and pretend to eat them. Some of the students were even able to express which foods they liked and didn’t like. A lot of students really liked corn and pizza!!
We practiced also showing which item we want. The students would raise their hand and answer “ME!” when asked “Who wants a hamburger?” I’m so proud of them!!
Our new song this month was “Are you hungry?” The students had so much fun learning the song and the gestures! They also enjoyed pretending to eat the different foods in the song! The students also learned phrases and words like “yummy” and “I’m full” through the song!
We’ve been working on a lot of feelings. We were working on “happy” and “sad,” but we’ve added more feelings! We now can express being sleepy, happy, sad, angry, hungry, and GREAT! Even if the students have a hard time speaking, they do a great job gesturing how they feel!
Because last month was international month, the students had a blast learning how to do the egg and spoon race! It was so much fun, and the students did so well! Some of you may have heard your students talking about the egg and spoon race at home because they enjoyed it so much!
Because our theme for July was food, we ended our month off with a food craft! We made ice cream and decorated it! This month was really great for pre-k! I’m so happy!
