Today in our kinder 1 class, we continued the exploration of bugs. 🐞 🐛
We started the lesson by gathering in a circle and singing our familiar hello song, in which the they can sing along and do the actions already. Yay 👏

This got us ready to dive into our activities.
First, we played the ‘Hot Potato’ game using a hula hoop. The students passed the hoop around the circle as music played, and when the music stopped, the one holding the hoop had to answer the question “How old are you?” The kids did a great job responding with their age, though a few of them got confused about whether they were 3 or 4. 🤭 Good job K1. 👏

Next, we reviewed the different kinds of bugs we’ve been learning about over the past few weeks. I held up flashcards, and the students name the bugs and did the finger movements of each bug. For example, for the beetle, the kids extended their index and middle fingers upwards and wiggled them. They are totally ‘bug-tastic’ with their finger play movements! 🦋🐝
We also sang ‘Butterfly, Ladybug, Bumblebee’ song. The room was filled with the buzzing hum, 🐝 and using their wiggly fingers, they liked to ‘sting’ each other as they moved their hands around like busy bumblebees. And before I knew it, I got stung by two of my students. Oh no! 😁
To end it the lesson, we played a bug-themed game.

They were so excited tossing the hoop and trying their best so it lands on or touches the bug cards.
We then practiced counting numbers 1 to 20 and sang ‘Goodbye Song’. 👋
That’s all for now. Time to buzz off. See you 🐝
