Today was my last day with this year’s Summer Program students. I wanted them to work together and build something that would mark their time in the Lion class. This month’s theme is “the sea” and today we learned about starfish. We thought about all the things starfish need: seaweed for food, sand for a bed, and of course friends. Next, we decided to make our own starfish and a fish tank filled with all the things a starfish could want. We worked together, with each pair taking responsibility for a different task.

We hope the starfish will be happy in their new home. We’ll take care of them until our summer friends come again.
