■Japan moves to criminalize exploitative photo voyeurism
Protests in Japan have led to the proposal of stronger laws against surreptitious photography with cell phones. The new legislation aims to criminalize voyeuristic images of a sexually exploitative nature.
However, it does not cover voyeuristic images of athletes at competitions, except for cases involving infrared cameras.
Former national volleyball player Kana Oyama emphasized the need for the legislation to protect athletes. Sakura Kamitani, a lawyer supporting victims of photo voyeurism, highlighted the importance of clearer laws and legislation for athlete voyeurism.
The new law proposes imprisonment or fines for offenders, regardless of the city they are in, and includes penalties for taking surreptitious pictures and sharing explicit content on social media.

■日本は、性的搾取を目的とした盗撮行為の犯罪化を進める
日本では、抗議活動の結果、スマートフォンを用いた盗撮行為に対してより強力な法律が提案されています。新しい法律は、性的かつ搾取的な盗撮画像を犯罪化することを目指しています。
ただし、競技中のアスリートの盗撮画像については、赤外線カメラを使用した場合を除き、対象とはされません。
元全国バレーボール選手の大山香奈さんは、アスリートを守るためにこの法律が必要だと主張しています。また、被害者を支援する弁護士の神谷さくらさんは、アスリートの盗撮に対するより明確な法律と立法の重要性を強調しました。
新しい法律では、犯罪者に対して地域にかかわらず懲役または罰金を科すことを提案しており、盗撮行為や性的なコンテンツをソーシャルメディアで共有することに対しても罰則が含まれています。
