■‘Shōgun’ wins 18 Emmys
The Emmy Awards, held on September 15, celebrate the best in television. This year, the FX series Shōgun made history by winning 18 Emmys, the most a TV show has ever won in one year. While some expected it to win 24, this marks the first time a Japanese TV series has received an Emmy.
Shōgun won the award for Outstanding Drama, and lead actor and co-producer Hiroyuki Sanada took home the Best Lead Actor award, making him the first Japanese actor to win this honor.
Co-star Anna Sawai also made history by winning Best Lead Actress in a Dramatic Series, becoming the first Japanese actress to achieve this. Sanada expressed his gratitude, saying, “Shōgun taught me that when people work together… we can create a better future together.”
■「将軍」エミー賞で18部門受賞
エミー賞が9月15日に開催され、テレビ界の最高の功績が称えられました。今年、FXのシリーズ『将軍』はエミー賞で18部門受賞し、1年で最も多くのエミー賞を獲得したテレビ番組として歴史を作りました。
一部ではエミー賞で24部門受賞するとの予想もありました。それでも、日本のテレビシリーズがエミー賞を受賞するのは初めての記録です。
『将軍』は「優れたドラマシリーズ部門」を受賞し、主演俳優で共同プロデューサーの真田広之は「最優秀主演男優賞」を受賞し、日本人俳優として初めてこの栄誉を手にしました。
共演のアンナ・サワイもドラマシリーズ部門の「最優秀主演女優賞」を受賞し、日本人女優として初めてこの称号を得ました。真田は感謝の気持ちを述べ、「（ドラマ）将軍は人々が協力すれば、より良い未来を共に創り上げることができることを教えてくれました」と語りました。
